Backdrops at BizBashLA!

Did you get a chance to see us at BizBash Los Angeles? We had such a wonderful time exhibiting among all of the other innovative vendors. We enjoy any opportunity to see our partners within the industry and meet new and upcoming event professionals. Connecting with so many professionals within the industry reminded us why we love being at tradeshows, especially in Los Angeles.

We highlighted our 10′ x 10′ Haunted House backdrop as one of our favorite holidays is Halloween (& we remember that even during the summer!). We absolutely love this spooky hand-painted backdrop and the front lighting transformed the backdrop in it’s own distinct way. Remember, front lighting is the way to go in regards to uplighting backdrops! We still celebrated summer by enjoying the beautiful weather in Los Angeles AND extending our Sizzling Summer Sale to all the attendees! We have a wide selection of 10′ x 10′ backdrops that are perfect birthday parties, smaller events, Quinceañeras, bar and bat mitzvahs, Sweet 16 parties, or even photoshoots!

It is amazing to exhibit at all of the BizBash expos from Florida to Los Angeles to New York. Each event is extremely unique and each of the attendees brings a new element to the conversation regarding event design and decor. It was lovely connecting with so many event professionals and discussing new ways to bring backdrops to life at any event, wedding, or special affair.

As we put our Florida and California 2015 BizBash experiences behind us, we are looking forward to what’s next. We cannot wait for the last BizBash expo of 2015 in New York and are thrilled that our East Coast Manager will be there to represent us! Backdrops at the LOVE Benefit!

We had the honor of being involved in the Love Benefit on June 2nd at the Morgan Run Resort and Club in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. It’s always a pleasure for us to give back to the community, especially when it affects someone so near and dear to the Backdrops Beautiful family. We were among 150 companies that came together to show our love and support for Aaron Feldman, CEO and Founder of True Photography. Aaron is a true visionary and has made a strong impact on our industry and our community, which was evident by the attendance and support at this amazing event.

We had such an incredible night being apart of this event, full of libations, delectable cuisine, a silent auction, opportunity drawings, games and live entertainment. It was so special for us to witness our Beatles 7 backdrop as a main element to the night’s festivities and it was so wonderful to see so many people that care so much about Aaron.

Everything really came full circle for us as our Director of Sales and Marketing, Jonathan Goldstone, used True Photography to document one of the most important days in his life – his wedding. We jumped at the chance to be apart of this event as we viewed it as an opportunity to truly thank and give back to Aaron and his company for all that they did in capturing Jonathan’s wedding. It is incredible how connected all of us are and using our community as a place to give back is essential in facilitating a loving and supportive network.

New Hand Painted Backdrops – June 2015

We love having the opportunity to create, design, and paint new backdrops on an ongoing basis – it’s what keeps our creative vibes flowin’ and inspires our team to continue to develop backdrops that push the limits of design. We are often inspired by requests from our clients that are looking to see their ideal vision that will perfectly complement and enhance their event. By working with our clients, our team creates picturesque backdrops that are unique and have the capability to completely transform an event.

Weather1 - 40x20

Our Weather 1 backdrop is one of my personal favorites. A reason I moved to the East Coast from California (where every season is summer) was to truly experience all four seasons. This portrays each season cohesively within one backdrop, highlighting the stark contrast of the seasons while seamlessly transitioning from one season to the next. This backdrop really highlights how beautiful nature is and how transformative it can be!

Bubbles5 Aqua - 20x10

Our Bubbles 5 Aqua backdrop is the ideal backdrop for a corporate event, birthday party, theatrical production, or special event. Our artists have used the ombré technique, using the aqua blue paint to transition to the green hue at the bottom of the backdrop. This backdrop will add a unique, subtle background to any event.

Coral Kingdom4 - 40x20

Looking for an under the sea experience without getting in the ocean? Our Coral Kingdom 4 backdrop brings the sea life to you! The intricate design of the coral kingdom takes you to a fantasy down under, full of a sea of purples, pinks, and blues.

Mansion View15 - 50x30

Our Mansion View 15 backdrop features an inside look at the interior of a stunning mansion, complete with a fireplace and two drape adorned windows. The detailed design of the mansion interior combined with the warmth of the fireplace makes our imagination wander into this beautiful living room.

We are so excited to see how these backdrops will look at your upcoming events! After all the work that our team puts in to creating each backdrop from inception to painting, the process is only complete with your vision on how the backdrop is incorporated into your event/recital.

Backdrops at BizBash Florida!

Every year, we look forward to exhibiting at BizBash South Florida and this year topped all of our expectations! We were so excited to travel to paradise (aka Ft. Lauderdale) to share new ideas with fellow vendors and attendees, inspire and become inspired from all of the other wonderful and innovative event industry leaders, and to connect with so many new and familiar faces. It was so incredible to be a part of the latest and greatest that the event and meeting industry has to offer. One of our favorite things to do is showcase our product and help you figure out different ways to use our backdrops! As always, we love receiving pictures from your events that help showcase the power of using a backdrop to transform your meeting or event! We would love to feature you on our website!

Since Paris, France is always on the top of our destination list, we highlighted our intricate Paris Eiffel Tower backdrop and enhanced the backdrop with our mime costumes à la Marcel Marceau. Our goal was to take you on a trip to France through our costumes and our backdrop, which we were delighted to hear such great feedback regarding our dedication to our theme. Our Paris backdrops come in all different sizes (from 10′ x 10′ to 50′ x 20′) and a variety of scenes.

We had so much fun bringing Paris to Florida and practicing the ‘art of silence’ while our mimes showcased our backdrop. The Eiffel Tower illuminated the night sky and we felt as if we were across the pond enjoying a gorgeous evening in France. Our enthusiasm continues as this is only the first BizBash expo of the year! We are excited for the remaining BizBash expos in 2015 and we are looking forward to seeing you there!

Backdrops at USITT 2015

This past week we had the honor of being a continuing supporter and exhibitor at the 2015 USITT Conference and Stage Expo. USITT which stands for the United States Institute of Theater and Technology, is the premier annual event for the theatre industry. We were so excited to highlight our beautiful backdrops to such a multi faceted industry. It was such a pleasure meeting and learning with individuals and companies throughout the three days of the #USITT Stage Expo. We highlighted the intricate detail of our hand painted backdrops by showcasing our 40’ x 20’ Palace Interior 3B Gold backdrop along the wall of the Stage Expo and our smaller 10’ by 10’ Palace Interior 6 Gold backdrop at our booth. All our hand painted backdrops utilize brush and airbrush techniques.

Backdrops at TSE 2015

Last month, while the entire country was covered in snow we spent two amazing days at the The Special Events conference and expo in Anaheim, CA. This year marked another huge success and it was significant to see how the events industry is constantly changing and evolving and as always connecting with existing and new customers and event professionals from around the world is gratifying.

This year we showcased our Grand Mansion 1 backdrop which was inspired by the Casino Royale in Monte Carlo. We decided to showcase this particular backdrop as this years’ TSE theme was southern California and what screams so-cal more than grand mansions like those found in the Hollywood Hills! To further embellish on that ‘oh-so-famous’ ambiance of the grandeur and decadence of Hollywood, we drove up our founder’s 1955 Jaguar XK120 roadster, this was the car that the likes of Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and other celebrities owned and drove in the 50’s. Driving the car out of the Anaheim convention center was quite a thrill as exhibitors were like the paparazzi snapping photos and applauding, perhaps just as James Dean may have in the 50s!

TSE Live Stage 2015

 

This year we showcased our new Stylized Beach 1  backdrop on the TSE Live! Performance Stage. This backdrop was inspired by both the beauty of southern California as well as this years TSE logo featuring orange, green, and blue palm trees. The amazing performances at this years show included Three Waiters International, Paint Jam!, The Singers in Disguise, and a beautiful violin trio (featured above).

We would also like to congratulate Patricia Daniel of The Northside Hospital Foundation who won our Free Backdrop Rental Raffle!

P.S. Events Are Not Only For Adults

Frozen Backdrop in BizBash NY

This week we exhibited in New York for BizBash and we decided on showcasing our Frozen backdrop.  It is evident that nowadays kids have a say in the decision making of their event just as much as adults do.  I remember growing up and having no real “say” in what I wanted for my parties.  Actually, I had no say – Period!.  My parents would take care of pretty much everything themselves.  They would handle everything from the décor to the invitation list.  I would be lucky if I ever saw any of my school friends there.  In reality, I saw none. It was always family and family friends.  Well, my parents friends and their children whom instantly would become my friends.  Thinking of it now makes me realize how things have changed and quiet honestly I’m okay that I didn’t have to stress over that in my childhood.

I now see my sister on how she goes on about planning her two girl’s events.  Specifically my god-daughter’s birthday parties and how involved she is with everything.  She is given the option of choosing her own theme all the way to what she wants to eat.  Let’s face it; kids are now playing the role of event planners regardless if parents want to admit it.  They control us- the end!

NACE Austin presents the Wonderland Eat the Heat Fundraiser

This year Backdrops Beautiful was fortunate to be a sponsor for the Nationally Recognized and Award Winning annual fundraiser EAT THE HEAT:  Wonderland hosted by the Austin Chapter of NACE. This year NACE-Austin partnered with the local charity The Arc of the Capital Area and produced an event that showcased Austin’s finest culinary talent. The event was held at the Renaissance Austin Hotel on Thursday August 14, 2014. The summer event is a progressive cocktail style party where guests are treated to specialty cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment with a grand finale featuring a Chef’s Showcase and Silent Auction! We are looking forward to partnering up again next year with Austin Chapter of NACE and assisting them with another successful EAT THE HEAT event.

Disney Cars Birthday Party

It’s true what all my friends that are parents say, kids definitely grow up lightning fast! My son recently turned one and I have no clue how this happened!  My friends and family gathered to celebrate my son Christian’s birthday in a small hall in Southern California earlier in the month.  We decided on Disney Cars for his birthday theme because of his liking for Lightning McQueen.  And yes, just like his daddy he’s already a Disney fan!

I am a proud new dad and I decided to share my sons event.  I made sure there was no detail left out; from the personalized water bottles, hand made goody bags, custom cake to all the labels for the food and beverages.  Aside from all the little details I also incorporated 2 backdrops to make everything cohesive, but also fun and exciting for all the kids.

IMG_9079I learned that it’s a lot of hard work and time consuming putting a themed party together.  And I now understand why some parents rather take their children on a vacation or have it at Chuck E. Cheese’s.  Regardless of all the stress, I personally would do it all over again next year!  My son is worth it!

Backdrops in Music City TSE2014

Paris Eiffel Tower 5 Night Backdrop at TSE2014

Despite the cold weather, the Special Event Show in Nashville, TN was a big success for us. As always, it was great connecting with old and new event professionals.  The hosting venue, Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, was an amazing setting for such a great event.  In my opinion the word “huge” is the best way to describe such a magnificent property. It boasts over 2,800 guest rooms, climate-controlled glass atriums that enclose all sorts of restaurants and shops, as well as a river and garden with several pathways and bridges.  At times, I even felt as if I was at Disneyland.

At our booth, our Black & White Ballroom Backdrop and our Twenties Backdrop, both inspired by the movie the Great Gatsby, were showcased back to back.  In addition, once again we sponsored the performing stage and displayed our Paris Eiffel Tower 5 Night backdrop which was a match made in heaven with Cort’s TSE Live Attendee Lounge featuring their Napoleon Collection.   Their theme was “Viva La Revolucion.”
