Back to the Basics – Dynamic Lighting

Have you ever wondered how you can revamp any background with different lighting? What happens when you choose a certain color backdrop, but you want to offer a versatile background choice for a variety of acts? The solution: LIGHTING. This dilemma happens with many of our clients and we’re featuring two of them below.

Our blue drapes with stars backdrop was chosen as the main element for our clients’ stage décor. While they had a chef on stage with elements of fire on each side, the blue drapes were a perfect fit for the fire and ice feel.

Believe it or not! Above is still our blue drapes with stars backdrop. Doesn’t look blue, does it? Once our client decided to switch up the presenters to a live DJ, a purple tone was more appropriate for the feeling of the music and as day turned into night. The color of the drapes, from blue to purple, was easily transformed with a red gel to create the purple tones behind DJ & MC David Krieger. Back to the basics of your RGBs! Think of all the customization opportunities lighting can provide to any backdrop you use. Effortlessly optimize any backdrop to match your color scheme!

For every scene, this client had different color drapes. All they had to do is change the gels! It was literally that easy. You can always change colors of our backdrops with fun and unique lighting tricks! Use lighting to color match our backdrops to whatever color you desire.

Another one of our clients used our Twilight Forest backdrop as part of their stage décor. Our Twilight Forest backdrop has a beautiful misty haze in the background of the scene. The forefront lush forest is full of greenery and brown hues, which is emphasized with the green front lighting above.

With a different act, comes a different color! The mood is completely transformed to fit the band. Check out the cooler, blue tones below. It is truly incredible to witness the power of front lighting in morphing our backdrop from one image to the next!

Fire and Ice, Hot and Cold. Truly proving that opposites attract. What a unique way to present an array of different types of spicy food and cool, refreshing drinks. Our Fire and Ice backdrop enhanced this area and truly brought their theme to life.

Stage Backdrops to Impress your Audience!

How can you transform your stage to WOW your audience? Selecting the perfect stage backdrops can make all the difference for your production! We went to St. Louis a few weeks ago to showcase our theatrical stage backdrops at USITT 2017! We had an incredible time delving deep into all aspects of Theater and Technology! Check out what we were up to below.

We featured our fun Mad Hatters Tea Party inspired backdrop in the ‘Not So Central Park’ area of the USITT Expo. The Mini Golf stations, the small café, a myriad of benches, and light posts added to the exciting vibe of the area. Our colorful backdrop served as a great background for this park. With its landscape of colorful mushrooms and enchanted trees, this most beautiful whimsical garden brings a fairytale elegance to the scene. Our Alice in Wonderland series features magical and mystical forest with larger than life mushrooms, a fantastical castle courtyard, animated wonderland flowers, and a giant garden.

At our booth, we showcased our brand new Umbrellas 4 Rain backdrop. The large rain drops amongst the colorful umbrellas and soft cumulus clouds added a unique element to the background. It almost looks as if you are looking out of a rain-covered window to floating umbrellas in the distance.

Our Beach Board Backdrop adorned the booth of our friends from ENTTEC. After discussing the beach theme of their booth, we designed and painted a brand new backdrop to meet their needs! It truly transformed their booth and added an extra WOW factor to engage the attendees!

Backdrops at The Special Event!

We had the pleasure of exhibiting at #TSE2017 last week! The Special Event show is always one of our favorites. What’s to love more than reconnecting with industry professionals and showcasing your product to new and beloved ones in the event industry? Being at the show re-energizes us and reminds us how lucky we are to be a part of a wonderful community of passionate people. We truly had an incredible time meeting new people, chatting about upcoming design trends in the event industry, and connecting with other exhibitors.

We showcased our Skateboard Graffiti backdrop at our booth, which was such a fun and vibrant background to feature. We brought the theme to life with our wet paint cans, yellow ladder, wet paint sign, and paint brushes all around. So many people stopped by our booth and thought it was an actual wall with graffiti! Can you believe it is hand-painted? The technique, detail, and vibrancy make this backdrop a show stopper.

Yes, we brought a skateboard as a prop! How could we not? & this wonderful attendee stopped by our booth & she was absolutely perfect for the backdrop! Skating around our booth was so much fun. The industrial feel of the street art created a unique atmosphere for all that came by our painted Graffiti Skateboard background. Check out the detail of the brick wall, painted skateboarder and artist, and the different colors featured in the backdrop below!

This backdrop was a part of our Custom Rental Service. A client asked us to design a background for a Bar Mitzvah boy that was passionate about graffiti and skateboarding. Backdrops Beautiful Gives Back | A Time For Heroes 2016

The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation (EGPAF) has quickly become one of our favorite organizations with an incredible annual event that raises awareness for pediatric aids. The EGPAF annual event, ‘A Time for Heroes’ Family Festival was filled with fun, games, and celebrity heroes. Some good old fashioned face painted was also involved. This incredibly meaningful event was held at Smashbox Studios in Culver City, CA. We love giving back to a great cause. Check out some of the images from this wonderful event below.

With the event being so close to Halloween, it was so much fun to be a part of this Mad Science area of the event. Our Lab Interior backdrop was featured as the background to an exciting plethora of activities. The skeleton below was quite the complement to our hand-painted backdrop. This part of the event was completely transformed into an spooky interior of a laboratory. Kids and adults alike had so much fun at this remarkable event.
