Roaming the streets of San Francisco or Oakland, you come across a large variety of images portrayed on walls of buildings or sidewalks, done carefully so by the citizens of these areas. Often times graffiti or street art is used to express an idea about society, or to exemplify a political, personal or spiritual belief. Plenty of the time it is obvious what the artist was going for, though other times the meanings and symbolism behind the art are subtle and undefined. In this backdrop we see words in different fonts, shapes and styles as well as a few random images sprayed over a tattered brick wall. The words aren't easily deciphered but maybe that's not important. The style and creative technique used to create each word or phrase displayed on this wall is interesting and suggests that perhaps more than one artist is responsible for this cool creation. One style seen at the top of the brick wall is thin and angular and looks as if someone took a black sharpie and wrote with it on the bricks. Below there is an interesting arrangement of square like objects drawn that bare teeth, eyes and ears and look to be in a tussle. One could guess what this is an interpretation of, but sometimes it's better to leave it to the artist and trust that his or her personal inspirations came out exactly the way the wanted them to. To the right of this cartoon-like bit, there is a small black scribble, and below both of these bits there are orange bubble letters ending in an exclamation point on a yellow background. The beginning of the word is covered by the smears of older looking purple graffiti letters which are then in turn covered by what looks to be a freshly sprayed scramble of bright red words. There is confusion and uncertainty when one tries to make sense of all the letters and phrases jumbled together, but overall the idea of a backdrop representing the creativity of members of society is incredible.
