This backdrop is fun, colorful, and playful. We have a lot going on both in the background and foreground, which allows us to become enjoyably distracted. The background is lined with stripes of different thickness, different colors, and different spacing between each stripe. The inconsistency may throw you off at first, but really is ultimately what draws an observer in and makes them admire the special qualities of this painting. Some of the stripes are a dark, night sky blue. Other stripes are a softer, lighter shade of blue- almost robin’s egg blue. Placed scarcely in the background, the yellow lines are thin but still vibrant and will immediately catch your eye. There are also a few white stripes that are placed throughout the painting and are not overpowering of any of the other colors but do make a nice contrast. Situated in front of the stripes are a variety of circles. The circles vary in size as well as the colors and designs that fill them. Oranges, reds, blues, and whites come together to create fourteen different unique combinations of circles. The circles are like colorfully decorated buttons. The colors are gender neutral and appeal to all audiences and all ages.
