Stage Backdrops Help Set The Stage

November 21st, 2013

Not sure on how to dress up your stage?  Our stage backdrops allow for any AV companies to offer a wow factor to their clients, especially if their budget does not allow for an LED screen.  Instead of boring black drapes or any color for that matter (my personal opinion), pitch them the idea of a themed backdrop according to the event or their presentation topic.  At the very least if the presentation is dull the audience will appreciate a beautiful backdrop to look at.  Backdrops is a cost effective way to add value to your contracts and create a one of a kind space for your clients.  It’s easier for people to understand the visual impact backdrops can create if they are able to see past examples so make sure you have a library of photos to share with them on hand.

We recently transformed the Celebration Hall Stage at Market Creeks Events and Venues in San Diego, CA with our Twenties 5 Backdrop for the San Diego NACE November Meeting and Annual Showcase.  Market Creek Events & Venues offers a collection of indoor and outdoor spaces to fit all types of events whether it be an intimate gathering to a large-scale conference. All their venues incorporate multicultural art and design, presentation technology and environmentally-friendly operations. Setup was scheduled for the same day of the vendor showcase.  The  venue made it hassle free for everyone by allowing access through the front doors of the Celebration Hall.  Aside from carrying the pipe and base by hand it took one quick cart trip to bring in our  gear.  Below is a quick outline of my total setup time and the equipment I used.

Twenties 5A Backdrop - Stage Backdrops

  • Setup Time: 20 minutes
  • Backdrop Name:  Twenties 5A Backdrop
  • Backdrop Size:  20’ W X 10’ H
  • Hardware:  Pipe & Base (3 uprights, 2 cross bars and 3 bases)
  • Miscellaneous:   Scissors / Box Cutter / Zip Ties (clear)
  • Man Power: 1 man team (myself)

Almost immediately after hanging the backdrop it created a stunning environment.  And even though the meeting wasn’t themed to anything specific it gave it visual interest and helped add decor.  A few lights were added for ambience by the venues AV team and Tim Altbaum Productions; a gobo projecting a moon and stars and a few up lights around the hall.  And even though the vendor showcase wasn’t themed the backdrop added character to the event.

We carry a large selection of stage backdrops for any size event.  Please keep us in mind for all your backdrop needs. For local customers we also offer pipe and base rentals.

What other suggestions do you have for setting the stage?

Halloween Masquerade Party - Hart of Dixie 2

HART OF DIXIE
“Help Me Make it Through the  Night” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, D) (HDTV)

TAKING ONE FOR THE TEAM —  After Lemon’s (Jaime King) fallout with the Belles, she is blacklisted from the  Junior League Halloween Masquerade party, so she calls her Grandma Bettie (guest  star Maree Cheatham, “Days of Our Lives”) for help and lands herself a date with  another of Alabama’s most eligible bachelors.  Lavon (Cress Williams) has a big  surprise for his anniversary with AnnaBeth (Kaitlyn Black), but when she has a  health scare, she turns to Zoe (Rachel Bilson) to help her out.  Meanwhile,  during the party, George (Scott Porter) has to do damage control with the town  judges and Wade (Wilson Bethel) keeps finding himself in trouble with ineligible  ladies.  Robert Buckley (“One Tree Hill”) guest stars.  Tim Matheson directed  the episode written by Jamie Gorenberg (#304).

Hart of Dixie 3×04 “Help Me Make It Though the Night” aired on Monday, October 28th at 8/7c on The CW.

My favorite line of the night was by George:  “I think you’re getting with every unavailable women you can because you can’t have the one unavailable woman that you want.”

What did you think of this year’s Halloween episode?
